There have been at least five translations of the Civil Code of Iran since its adoption at the beginning of the twentieth century. This translation by Mostafa Shahabi is the most up to date and includes ammendments made to the civil code in 2007.
In this translation, Mostafa Shahbabi has attempted to provide a translation which is as faithful as possible to the original Persian, to ensure that readers will be able to discern for themselves the true meaning of the text.
