The present volume contains the majority of national reports on social and economic rights prepared for the 19th International Congress of Comparative Law which was held in Vienna on 20-26 July 2014. All reports have been updated following the discussions at the Congress.

The national reports are based on a questionnaire but do not all follow the same format. Each report gives an overview of various legal questions connected withthe protection of social and economic rights in a particular country. The book as a whole shows the difficulties in the implementation of social rights. This work is of interest not only to academics interested in the field of comparative law but also to legal practitioners active in the field of social and economic rights.
