This new text will collate the CPS Charging Standards for the first time in a standalone volume. The Crown Prosecuction Service (CPS) have recently undertaken a systematic revision of the three documents commonly known as charging standards. These documents provide guidance to prosecutors concerning the appropriate level of charging in relation to assaults, public order, driving offences, and for the first time, as of November 2004, in relation to dishonesty, public justice and drugs.

The OUP collated CPS Charging Standards are fully cross-referenced to Blackstone's Criminal Practice 2005, Archbold's 2005 and Wilkinson's Road Traffic Offences. In addition to the Standards this text contains a clear index, tables, the Code for Prosecutors and relevant CPS Policy documents in relation to offences such as race and religious crime, rape, domestic violence and offensive weapons.
