Shiels and Bradleys indispensable Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 is being fully updated for 2008. The practical application of criminal procedure in Scotland can often present a challenge for practitioners. This title will provide a complete and up-to-date copy of the main Act, with authoritative annotations, to provide assistance in such situations. This Act is the most significant piece of Scots criminal legislation for todays criminal practitioner.

All legislative changes to the Act as at June 2008 will be incorporated into the 7th edition, including the changes to bail made by the Criminal Proceedings etc. (Reform)(Scotland) Act 2007. The remaining provisions of the 2007 Act are due to be commenced in March 2008 and should therefore be included. Amendments being made by the Police, Public Order and Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2006 and the Custodial Sentences and Weapons (Scotland) Act 2007 are currently pending, but no commencement information is available.
