Introduction to the law of property was written specifically for second year students in a first course on the subject. The authors therefore decided to restrict the title to what is essential for these students. Consequently, footnotes have not been used. However, extensive use is made of examples and references to case law. The title tries to give a picture of the new law of property, and therefore chapters concerning the protection of rights in property in terms of the Constitution of 1996 have been included. The approach and layout are aimed especially at second-year students and consequently considerable attention was given to a user-friendly and study-orientated approach.
