To celebrate the acquisition of its one-millionth volume, the Jamail Center for Legal Research decided to organize a major international conference on language and the law at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin.
The conference brought together the world's leading scholars, lawyers, and law librarians, who pooled their knowledge and experience in an effort to make sense of the development of language and the law throughout history and in the present time.
Among the topics covered: the Age of Rastell, the evolution of legal lexicography, storytelling in law, the language of the law, law in context, and the role of law libraries.
