Based on a series of seminars, this book seeks to provide a source of reference for those involved in conveying contaminated land, whether in public or private sectors. The legal and environmental issues surrounding the use and development of contaminated land are of great importance to planners and developers, as well as those concerned with land use and the regeneration of towns and cities. This book addresses some of the problems, including: problems for conveyancers; liabilities and obligations in ""simple"" purchases and sales; acting for a lessor or lessee; conveying development land; taking and enforcement of security; insurance issues; environmental reports and surveys; local authority action; and the 1995 Environment Act.
