Volume 1 is divided into seven chapters, each covering a separate aspect of contractual relations. The first chapter sets out the rules determining the applicable law of the contract. It deals with the Rome Convention on the applicable national law as well as the interaction of EC legislation and national law.
The subsequent five chapters address specific obligations imposed by EC legislation in commercial, employment, consumer, banking and public contracts respectively. The final chapter deals with the Brussels Convention on jurisdiction and judgments.
The content reflects as closely as possible the exact wording of the EC legislation together with the precise wording of any relevant dicta of the European Court of Justice.
