During its 76-year history, the ILO has developed an extensive body of texts in the field of international labour law. This library has been drawn together in the ILOLEX CD-ROM, a full-text trilingual database (English, French and Spanish) on international labour standards with search and retrieval software. A single CD-ROM contains all three language versions. Each language version includes: the ILO Constitution; all ILO conventions and recommendations; the reports of the Committee on Freedom of Association, from 1985; comments of the Committee of Experts on the Application of Conventions and Recommendations, from 1987; the Annual Report of the Conference Committee on the Application of Standards, from 1987; the Reports of Committees and Commissions established under articles 24 and 26 of the ILO Constitution to examine representations and complaints, from 1985; and - ratification lists by Convention and by country.;In sum, ILOLEX contains more than 64,000 full-text documents. The ILOLEX is updated annually to ensure access to up-to-date information. The retrieval and display of all these documents is performed by tailor-made software. This custom-designed user interface is very flexible. The documents are divided into several chapters; the user may search within these specific categories of ILO documents. Equally, it is possible to search the whole database by subject classification, country, particular convention, or free text query using words or expressions.
