Since the appearance of the previous edition of this standard work there have been a multitude of changes especially in the field of case law and legislation. The most important decisions have been incorporated in the text of this fifth edition, which now deals with such innovations as the Contracts of Employment Act, and the Offices Shops and Railways Act.
The whole book has been subjected to the most careful revision by the Reader of English Law in the University of London. Its usefulness as a textbook is beyond question. It will also be of immense value to the practitioner - and indeed to employers, insurance officials and trade union officials.
