In Scotland, a binding sale of land may be concluded by an interchange of missives. The contents of missives vary widely and, although the introduction of standard forms has been considered, there is at present no set format, and there are many pitfalls. This practical text concentrates on the problems that can arise in the drafting of missives. Styles are reproduced throughout.
