These are the very best of the Rumpole stories. Over thirty years John Mortimer wrote around eighty Rumpole stories, as well as four Rumpole novels, as the greatest of all fictional lawyers went from defending wife-murderers to defending hunt-saboteurs and alleged Islamic terrorists.
Forever Rumpole contains seven early stories chosen by the author himself in 1993 as his favourites to that point together with a further seven from the later years, and a fragment of a Rumpole novel Sir John left on his death. It offers the best available selection of Rumpole stories.
