This book is aimed at nurses,for whom medical law is a necessary and relevant part of their initial training or continuing education. It is divided into four main sections.;The first section deals with common law issues such as medical negligence and consent, section two addresses statutory issues such as the Mental Health Act and access to health records.;The third section looks at the medical context, including hospital complaints procedures, and in part four, the ethical issues of withdrawing treatment, living wills and confidentiality are discussed.
