The Joint Colloquium held in the UK in June 1998 was the first Commonwealth gathering to bring together at senior level parliamentarians, including those holding ministerial office, judges, legal practitioners and legal academics. The specific aim was to draft guidelines as to best practice with regard to relations between the Executive, Parliament and the Judiciary in the context of the Harare and Millbrook commitments.
