This volume examines the practical and theoretical justification for freedom of information laws, particularly the United States Federal Freedom of Information Act, which gives any person access to documents and records of federal agencies. In this regard, the volume also considers objections to these laws and explores topics raised by the adoption of freedom of information principles outside the United States.
