Bagnall from what he considers the unorthodox position of non-foundational realist attempts to shed new light on the very idea of ""law"" itself. He endeavours to cohere the new philosophies, (in epistemology, value, and ontology of art), in an attempt advance the emerging shift in contemporary legal inquiry, a shift away from the scientific approach, toward an artisitic perspective on law.
