This Third Volume of the book series focuses on the development and use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, an interdependent characteristic of the Non-Proliferation Treaty along with disarmament and non-proliferation.
This Volume explores this interrelationship focusing on issues of peaceful uses, i.e. safety and security of fissile material, considering the different roles of nation states as well as the International Atomic Energy Agency, ultimately presenting a number of conclusions for international cooperation in this sensitive field where political discussion often dominates over legal analysis.
