The book rectifies the current absence of such information for those embarking on the parenting journey at the Bar. The authors build on the collective wisdom of parents from across the Bar, reflecting insights from over 250 barrister-parents – both women and men – and from across all areas of law and levels of call.
The book is written to encourage more supportive practices in Chambers, amongst colleagues, and ideally, eventually opponents and the judiciary, by sharing what works, what can be improved, and what needs to end. The result is an unvarnished account of the challenges that exist for parents at the Bar, designed to encourage open and honest discussion about where the solutions lie.
