This ""Code of Safe Working Practice"" is intended primarily for merchant seamen on UK registered vessels. It must be carried on all UK ships other than fishing vessels and pleasure crafts. It must be available to any seaman on a ship who requests it. Four main sections deal with safety management, training, common working practices and specialist ship operations. This edition combines the 2001 consolidated edition (ISBN 0-11-552369-3) and the January 2002 amendment.
