The aim of this text is to introduce readers to the Spanish legal system and the main branches of Spanish law and comparative law. It outlines the development of the Spanish constitution and examines sources of law, the political and legal institutions and the territorial organization with reference to the autonomous communities. The reader is introduced to the basic principles of the various legal branches and reference is made to the relevant legal codes.
The legal processes are also explored, along with a consideration of Spain's relationship with the ECU and how EC law has affected the Spanish national laws.
