This book presents an investigation of legal education; some of its historical episodes, its contemporary situation in the UK and US, and its alternative futures. It analyses the tradition, taking a challenging view of legal education generally, prosing that educational theory is a key element of jurisprudential inquiry; and that the differing cultures of educational research in the UK and in the US means there is much that each can learn from each other's traditions and research.
