Aims to make it possible for the reader to know when s/he should involve a specialist in a rights to light case. The following topics are discussed: what is a right to light?; how to acquire and hold on to a right to light; permissive and restrictive deeds; valuation; and fees.
This edition contains revisions to chapter 7, to include a case on the Welsh border concerning a screen of Cupressus trees, and chapter 11, about the problems associated with the use of computer programs. Chapter 14 on planning, in particular ""Sunlight and Daylight"", has been completely revised, and the Appendix includes an extra case, ""Deakings v Hookings"", 1993.
