The Lord Slynn of Hadley European Law Foundation was created in 1999, on the initiative of His Honour George Dobrey CBE QC, to fulfil a growing need for support, advice and training to lawyers particularly from countries of Central and Eastern Europe, many of which countries are now members of the European Union. The Foundation has been named after Lord Slynn in recognition of his great contribution to the development of the principles and practice of European Law in its broadest sense.
