PACE (Police and Criminal Evidence Act) and its Codes of Practice are integral to the police's fight against crime and public protection. This new publication supersedes the 2003 edition (0113412703) and includes the new Code F 'Code of Practice on Visual Recording with Sound of Interviews with Suspects', as well as other amends to the codes approved by Parliament. It also covers the exercise of stop and search powers, searching premises, the treatment, questioning and identification of suspects.
The Codes regulate police powers and procedures in the investigation of crime and set down safeguards and protection for members of the public.
