This book reviews the most developed and controversial of all Community policies - the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The legal aspects of the policy are examined, from its inception to the changes agreed at the recent Berlin European Council. The book highlights the problems facing the policy as it seeks to evolve to meet the challenges of the coming years. These include a greater concern with the environmental impact of agriculture, the enlargement of the Community to the east, and the demands placed on the Community - from developing countries that have relations with it to the challenges emerging from the World Trade Organisation. *Only introductory text available on CAP. *The CAP is set for a much higher profile in the next few years and will be an increasing demand for literature on it.
